Dance Class Descriptions

Adults

  • Adults & Older Children

  • Beginning and Advanced Tap, Ballet, & Jazz/Hip Hop

This class gives adults and older children the chance to learn dance technique in a very laid back environment.  We teach the skills the way they were meant to be danced...we don't skip any steps.  It is important that all dancers (recreational and professional) learn the proper progression in all styles of dance...not just the "fun" steps or the "easy" steps, but the correct steps.

Boys

  • 7 & up

  • Ballet

Boys perform different steps than girls...especially in ballet.  Once boys reach the age of 7, we put them into their own class where they can learn to diversify their movements and perfect the steps that boys do more often.  We encourage the boys to also take the level appropriate technique class to enhance their understanding of the dance form. (This class is only offered in the Fall/Spring Session)

Toddler Movement

  •  18-36 months

  • parent/child class, gross motor skills

  • Ballet, Rhythm, Tumbling

This parent/child class is a stepping stone to a technique class.  Parents are encouraged to participate in this class, as children under 3 CAN NOT SIT STILL (nor should we expect them too)!  This class focuses on motor skills and gives the children an excellent background in the creativity of movement.  We do teach the children proper terminology, we just don't go into background detail.  Every child that learns dance at our facility, is learning correct technique.
