Dance Class Descriptions
This class gives adults and older children the chance to learn dance technique in a very laid back environment. We teach the skills the way they were meant to be danced...we don't skip any steps. It is important that all dancers (recreational and professional) learn the proper progression in all styles of dance...not just the "fun" steps or the "easy" steps, but the correct steps.
Boys perform different steps than girls...especially in ballet. Once boys reach the age of 7, we put them into their own class where they can learn to diversify their movements and perfect the steps that boys do more often. We encourage the boys to also take the level appropriate technique class to enhance their understanding of the dance form. (This class is only offered in the Fall/Spring Session)
This parent/child class is a stepping stone to a technique class. Parents are encouraged to participate in this class, as children under 3 CAN NOT SIT STILL (nor should we expect them too)! This class focuses on motor skills and gives the children an excellent background in the creativity of movement. We do teach the children proper terminology, we just don't go into background detail. Every child that learns dance at our facility, is learning correct technique.
During the summer we will also be exploring dance history. The students will learn choreography from particular ballets and learn what makes each ballet unique. They will also be learning about famous dancers and the roles that they portrayed. Technique will still be the main focus, but this will give an interesting edge to what they already know.

Cheerleading camp includes instruction in cheers, jumps and pom routines, voice projection and pom making. All Cheerleading Camps will be included in the session Showcase Performance on the final day of the session during the last 10 minutes of class. A more intensive class is offered for more serious children under our gymnastics classes for 7 years and up.
Look out for a fun and energetic dance class! This class will explore moves, jumps and turns like you see on TV! Everything is "scaled down" and age appropriate. This is our most popular class for this age group!
This is the class that Springfield children have been waiting for! Elizabeth Donathon will instruct children 8 years old and up in musical theatre...acting, singing, movement...everything necessary for a successful audition. This class is for beginners through advanced performers to help perfect the skills.
This is the class for dancers that crave a little more tap...fun, high energy, rhythmic tap technique. This hour long tap class will fine tune the skills to make any dancer a true "hoofer". Musical Theatre Camp...Summer 2007
Musical theatre camp with a popular theme! Learn choreography, vocals and scenes from the popular musical!
